Hangar Dance

The Wrap-Up

In under an hour, the dusty hangar was transformed into a speak-easy atmosphere. Lights were hung, dance floor laid, shoes strapped, and sound system blared. Soon the masses began pouring in, drawn through the non-descript door by the classic sounds of Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin and Aretha Franklin, to name a few. The coolers overflowed with drinks, the tables were covered with snacks, and the buzz of music and conversation filled the space. Jay Bryam of Spire Productions began his lesson, with men and women lining up as he led them through east coast swing basics. Post-lesson, the dance floor quickly filled as the party began. Throughout the night, both familiar and new faces mingled into the vibrant crowd. The evening was interspersed with line dancing, freestyling and plenty of epic dipping. The night ended as both old and new friends bid their farewells and danced into the night.
